Space and Planets
We have been feeling the Sun’s rays this summer at Beanstalk and what better topic to kick things off in summer school than the planets.
The first two weeks of our natural science theme have been about space and planets.
At the end of July Mars appeared it’s brightest and was very visible. Its closest approach to Earth was on July 31. That was the point in Mars’ orbit when it came closest to Earth. Mars was at a distance of 35.8 million miles (57.6 million kilometers).
Handa Sky Museum
Sticking with our theme of space and planets we visited the Handa Sky Museum where we learned more about the universe.
We went into a huge planetarium where we learned about our solar system and beyond.
It was a really educational day out and we came back knowing a lot more about the universe we live in.
