We had a great time at Summer School! This year, we focused on the Four Seasons. Each week of our Summer School session was used to learn lots about each different season, using science, books and crafts to help us learn.
The first week, our theme was the season of “Spring”.
Older students performed lots of experiments, including this one to see how seeds grow under different conditions.
We took a trip to Morikoro Park to learn all about nature and the plants around us.
At Morikoro park we made our own picture frame using objects from nature.
We also made some “chirashi-zushi” using yummy vegetables that grow during the spring.
The second week we learned about “Summer”!
Wow, that’s what happens during a rainstorm! Deedee students learned about the weather.
Students participated it lots of traditional summer activities like smashing open watermelons…..
catching cold noodles flowing down a bamboo slide…
and of course, playing in the pool!
We also went on a special overnight camping trip with our older students… please read about it in the next post! To be continued!
