We had a great day of Japanese summer fun!
Nagashi somen is a traditional Japanese summer meal wherein people catch noodles that are flowing down a bamboo slide with their chopsticks.
We were suppose to use the real bamboo set but unfortunately due to the weather we changed our plan and used the cool somen machines inside.
Children used chopsticks and forks to catch the noodles and put them in a cup of broth.
Next, students tried their best to crack open a watermelon while blindfolded.
They did a great job and had a treat of cold, sweet watermelon after they managed to smash it open.
